House renovation and extension

This project predates Marek Štěpánek's work under the LZM Company name and helped shape the company's direction.

The complete renovation and construction management were carried out by Marek Štěpánek himself. The project involved extensive remodelling of the original house: from remedial work and damp treatment to removing, rebuilding and extending the upper floor.

The project included a new trussed roof structure, blown insulation, sheet-metal roofing, acoustic plasterboard partitions, new electrical wiring, water supply and drainage, a complete heating system, bathroom renovation, new floors, ceilings, finishes, windows, external insulation and facade.

The house is heated by a heat pump, supplemented upstairs by underfloor heating and a Romotop inset stove, and downstairs by radiators and a stone-clad freestanding stove.

New windows were also fitted with the VEKA Softline 82 MD.

A key aim of the renovation was to substantially reduce the house's energy demand. Once completed, the house achieved energy rating B.

The experience gained on this extensive project became one of the foundations for the idea behind LZM Company – bringing construction trades, technical knowledge and the ability to manage a complete project into one business.
